A relaxing weekend off
A weekend off is a divine thing. A weekend free of work. Or, to be more specific, a weekend free of paid work.
I had time to spent at home, make sandwiches, prepare and cook soup, fry fish, make porridge. I had time to do ten loads of laundry, hang clothes, fold clothes, iron clothes. I had time to clean the litter box and feed the cat. I had time to organize, to clean, to polish. I had time to go to the store, and to find lost shoes.
I had time to invite my mother-in-law over for coffee, and time to pick her up. I had time to referee quarrels among my offspring. I had time to scrape candle wax off a table.
I had time to spend an hour sitting and relaxing on the couch on Saturday night, before I fell asleep, on the couch. I had time to talk on the phone, for fifteen minutes with a co-worker, for five with a friend, and ten with my brother. I had time to DVR Frasier, since I didn’t have time to watch it, because I had to have time to drive a child to his hobbies.
A weekend off is so relaxing, I had so much time for myself!
